Work with people you have reason to trust

Trust on WORKORA is not a promise, it is a set of mechanics: reviewed verification, money held against an order, written scope, and an evidence trail that survives a disagreement. Here is exactly how each part works and what you should do on your side.

Six things working in the background

Every one of these applies to work kept on the platform.

Verified identity

Identity and business verification are reviewed by a human against submitted documents. Badges are earned, never bought — Premium is a separate, paid signal and never implies verification.

Protected payments

Buyers fund an order up front and money is held against that order. Sellers are credited when the delivery is accepted, so neither side is exposed to the other's goodwill.

Written agreements

Scope, milestones, revisions and deadlines live in a contract attached to the order, so a disagreement is settled against a record instead of a memory.

On-platform record

Messages, files and scope changes stay in the order thread. That thread is the evidence used in any dispute review, which is why off-platform deals lose protection.

Private by default

Documents, attachments and payout details are never public. Private files are served through short-lived signed links, and administrative access is logged.

Active enforcement

Reports are triaged into a moderation queue. Outcomes range from listing removal and payout holds to permanent account closure for fraud.

Awareness

Scam patterns worth memorising

Almost every loss on a work marketplace starts with one of these six moves.

  • Asking to move payment or chat off WORKORA before the first milestone.
  • Pressure to release funds early, before anything has been delivered.
  • An offer that is far above market rate for very little described work.
  • Requests for your password, one-time code, or full banking credentials.
  • A brief that only exists as a downloadable file or external link.
  • Refusal to put scope, timeline or price in the order thread.

If you are hiring

  • Check verification badges, delivery history and reviews before shortlisting.
  • Write the deliverable, format and deadline into the contract, not the chat.
  • Split larger work into milestones you can review one at a time.
  • Only accept delivery when you have the files you can actually use.

If you are selling

  • Confirm the brief in writing and price the revisions into the package.
  • Never start unfunded work on a promise of a later purchase order.
  • Deliver through the order so acceptance and timestamps are recorded.
  • Complete payout onboarding early so a credited earning is not held up.

Reporting

Something looks wrong — what happens next

Reports are triaged, not ignored.

  1. Step 1

    Report it

Use the report control on the profile, listing or message, or contact the Help Center with the order reference.

  2. Step 2

    We review

Moderators read the thread and the account history. Payouts on the affected order can be held while that happens.

  3. Step 3

    We act

Outcomes range from listing removal and warnings to payout reversal and permanent closure for fraud.

FAQ

Safety questions, answered directly

Is my payment protected on WORKORA?

Yes. The buyer funds the order at checkout and the money is held against that order. The seller's earning is credited after the buyer accepts the delivery or the acceptance window closes, and disputes are reviewed against the order record.

What does a verified badge on WORKORA mean?

It means a person's government identity document, or a business's registration details, were submitted and reviewed by WORKORA staff. Verification cannot be purchased and is separate from Premium membership.

What should I do if someone asks me to pay outside WORKORA?

Decline and report the message. Off-platform payment removes escrow, contracts and dispute review, and payment circumvention is a serious breach of the Marketplace Rules.

How do I report a user, job or message on WORKORA?

Use the report control on the profile, listing or message, or contact the Help Center with the order or thread reference. Reports enter a moderation queue and outcomes are recorded.

How does WORKORA handle disputes?

The order thread is the evidence: brief, scope changes, files and acceptance. WORKORA reviews it and can adjust earnings, hold a payout, or restrict an account. It is an administrative review, not legal arbitration.
